Tools for the part of the work that gets scanned, not seen.

Select the asset you need, enter your specs, and download as EPS, SVG, or PDF. UPCs are built to the GS1 spec, the Nutrition Facts panels to 21 CFR 101.9. Nothing you type here leaves the browser. The standards each one follows are spelled out at the bottom of the page.

Format

Enter the numbers from your lab report and the size of your package. The tool rounds every value the way the regulation says to, picks the format the package qualifies for, and hands back the panel as vector files.

Package

The FDA decides which formats you may use by the total surface area available for labeling, not by the panel itself. Enter the package and the tool works it out, or skip this and choose a format below.

Enter unrounded values from your analysis. The column on the right shows what will print; %DV is calculated from the unrounded amount.

Outlined type prints identically anywhere. Editable text opens in Illustrator as live Helvetica or Arial, so a number can be changed by hand — the page's rounding won't follow it, so regenerate from the link below when you can.

Built to 21 CFR 101.9 as amended by the FDA's 2016 final rule, the version in force since 2020: the fifteen mandatory nutrients, the current Daily Values, the rounding increments in paragraph (c), the 2–3 serving dual-column rule in (e), the simplified format in (f) and the small-package provisions in (j)(13). Type sizes are the regulation's minimums for each tier, at the proportions of the FDA's own sample labels; the bars are 7 and 3 point, the hairlines half a point. The face is TeX Gyre Heros, the freely licensed Helvetica-family design, with Helvetica's metrics and letterforms, exported as outlines so nothing needs to be installed or embedded; the editable-text files reference Helvetica itself. US FDA panels only — not Canada's Nutrition Facts table, not Supplement Facts, not the infant or child formats, not the aggregate display for variety packs. The tool sets the format; the numbers, the serving size and the compliance are yours, and a regulatory reviewer should see the label before it prints. Provided as-is, with no warranty. Always send a printed proof to whoever signs off on the label.
